A.S.T.A.R.T. Training Program Development - Scott Richardson & Dan Mullin

Scott Richardson is a third generation firefighter who has been a member of the fire service since 1983. His current assignment is as a Lieutenant on Engine Company 35, South Metro (Colorado) Fire Rescue. He is a Colorado state certified Fire Instructor, EMS Primary Instructor and a nationally registered paramedic. Scott is a primary faculty member for the Community College of Aurora Emergency Medical Provider program and the Denver Metro Regional Technical Rescue Team. He is also certified at the NIMS Train the Trainer level. In addition he instructs regionally, specifically on rapid intervention, technical rescue, and emergency services leadership. Scott is currently pursuing a degree in Public Safety with emphasis in Para-medicine and Fire Science, as well as a degree in Management.

Dan Mullin is a 2nd generation firefighter and started in the fire service in 1980. He currently holds the rank of Battalion Chief at Parker/South Metro Fire Authority. Dan has been assigned to the Training Division and served as Special Operations Chief as well as a truck and engine company officer. He is a Colorado state certified hazardous material technician, as well as a state certified Instructor, Fire Officer 3 and DO 3. As an instructor at the Metro Training Center, Dan has helped develop classes for rapid intervention as well as firefighting courses for mine rescue teams.

Brian Couzens has spent the last 25 years as a career and volunteer firefighter. He is currently serving with the Elizabeth, CO Fire Protection District as a Volunteer Fire Officer, Paramedic, Engineer and Instructor. He is also the producer/animator for a video training series on the National Incident Management System.

Dominic Colletti, Jr. is a career firefighter with a large combination fire department in the Northeast United States. He is the founder and manager of CAFS Institute in Royersford P.A. The CAFS Institute is one company that provides CAFS training and education throughout the United States and has done so with many departments from California to Pennsylvania and in-between.
